A celebration of diversity through the music of female composers who have historically been under-represented and under-performed. This concert features works from the 1800's through to the modern era by women of diverse cultural backgrounds. Through this concert, we draw a connection with the ongoing work being done, and that must continue to be done, to promote diversity in the legal industry.
Habeas Chorus and BottledSnail Productions is delighted to present Benjamin Britten’s iconic Ceremony of Carols; one of the greatest and often-performed choral works of the 20th century, consisting of settings of old English texts set for mixed voices and harp. Surrounding this extraordinary piece of music we bring to you a selection of Christmas music from around the globe, including songs from Ukraine, France, the USA and Australia. Join us once again at Collins Street Baptist Church for an afternoon of reverent, joyous and eclectic music fit to welcome in the festive season.
Australian music for an ever-changing world.
Habeas Chorus' first concert season for 2017 sees them join forces with Melbourne's premier vocal ensemble, The Consort of Melbourne, for a performance of two very special works. Dan Walker's celebrated Mass of Deliverance is a mass for the modern age; a reflection of not only our suffering, our heartache and loss, but also of the beauty and power of humanity, and our ability to come together to help others in times of need. Habeas Chorus is delighted to present the Melbourne premiere of this stunning work alongside Australian film composer Christopher Gordon's dynamic and uplifting Peace on Earth, and a bracket of beautiful shorter works by The Consort of Melbourne.
Join us at the Collingwood town hall for an afternoon of truly moving music from two of Australia's finest composers.
