Rehearsed readings in the supreme Court Library
The Law Library of Victoria and BottledSnail Productions presents Shakespeare in the Supreme: a series of rehearsed play readings.
These rehearsed readings are performed in the Supreme Court Library. Each of the performances is directed by the President of BottledSnail Productions, Nicky Neville-Jones, who also directed the company's 2019 major theatrical production of The Laramie Project at Chapel Off Chapel.
In 2025, this project performed readings of Julius Caesar and Love’s Labour’s Lost. In addition, as part of the Australian Heritage Festival, on Sunday 17 May 2025, members of the Shakespeare in the Supreme project performed a reading of Shakespeare’s Winter’s Tale in the beautiful historic surrounds of the Old Bendigo Law Courts.
Our 2026 performance dates will be:
- Tuesday 31 March and Wednesday 1 April (Romeo and Juliet)
(Free tickets now available here for 31 March and here for 1 April)
- Tuesday 18 August and Wednesday 19 August
- Wednesday 18 November and Thursday 19 November
All performances are from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Ticketing information will be available on this website in the leadup to each performance.
These events are free, but booking is required. Attendees must pass through court security before the event.
